The overview below describes the academic concept of this two-week pathway and how it relates to the Four-Week Medical Program.
Two-Week Medical
Academic medical learning without a Medical English block
The Two-Week Medical Program is a concentrated academic pathway for university and health sciences students who already have the English proficiency needed for seminars and tutorials, and who want subject-focused medical learning in the McMaster environment.
Unlike the Four-Week Medical Program, this pathway does not include a dedicated Medical English immersion block. Time is devoted to academic medical themes — such as evidence-informed practice, health research orientation and related contemporary topics — in an intensive short format.
McMaster’s Office of International Affairs regularly offers two-week specialized summer options across disciplines; MedHealthEdu’s two-week medical pathway follows that shorter-duration model for medical / health audiences. Exact content and fee for the next cohort remain to be confirmed.

McMaster teaching culture
Two-week specialized summer options are a familiar format in McMaster’s Office of International Affairs portfolio. MedHealthEdu’s two-week medical pathway follows that shorter-duration model for medical and health audiences who already have workable English for academic sessions.
Learning typically emphasizes small-group discussion and critical appraisal — skills associated with McMaster’s problem-based and evidence-based traditions since the late 1960s. Day-by-day timetable and faculty list will be published when the next cohort is confirmed.

I learned how AI can help doctors with documentation, giving them more time to focus on their patients.
During the program, I was truly impressed by the expertise of the professors and especially by the high-quality research being conducted in the field of healthcare.
“In Canada, I was impressed by how much the professors enjoy discussing what they teach and by the research they are doing. It was especially interesting to see how their research is organized and how it can have a real impact on healthcare.”
“I learned how artificial intelligence can be applied in future clinical practice. For example, we saw how AI can record a doctor’s conversation with a patient and help create the medical record. This could allow doctors to spend more time with their patients rather than with clinical documentation.”
